FAQ Let's visit

How much is it to become a member?

Nothing – it is completely FREE to become a registered member of Let’s Visit! To register, please go to our registration page here and complete the form. Once this is submitted, you’ll be able to save a list of your favourite places to your admin area, print off details ready to take on your journey, and take advantage of special offers that are available only to registered members.

How do I use the virtual tours?

Easy-peasy! Just place your cursor in the virtual tour window, then click and drag in the direction you wish to view. You’ll notice that there are three buttons in the window:

  • stop rotation, which you can use if you want to take your time exploring;
  • enter fullscreen, which makes the video enlarge to fill your entire monitor screen (you’ll love this – we recommend doing this to capture the real feel of the place); and
  • help, which will demonstrate how to pan around.

How do I rate a destination?

You can use our ‘Rate this place’ feature. This is found this just above the ‘Address’ tab on every listings page. You can see what the current rating of that place is, and if you place the cursor over the stars, you will see them adjust to the star that you’re currently on. Just select the star rating that you want to leave for the listing and – Bob’s your uncle – you've done it!

Can I add comments about a place anywhere?

We currently don’t offer the opportunity to leave a comment about a place, but please feel free to rate it by using our ‘Rate this place’ feature on every listings page … just above the ‘Address’ tab.

How can I get my business featured?

Let’s Visit is a great way to showcase your business! To feature your business on our site, please complete the advertisers’ registration form here, or if you’d prefer to chat to us personally, please call us on +44 (0)845 8697504.

How do you produce a virtual tour?

With great precision! We use 27 high-resolution still images, taken with professional equipment, to capture all of the information we need to produce our high-definition video tours. We stitch these images together in the studio, edit them, and use sophisticated technology and software to create the final video that you see our website.

How can I advertise on the site?

Let’s Visit is a great way to advertise your business, special offers, or events. We have many areas that we offer to our advertisers. Choose to feature your advert on all pages throughout our website or choose specific pages for a target audience … it’s up to you. No matter what you're looking for, we can help!

To feature your business, please complete the advertisers’ registration form here, or if you’d prefer to chat to us personally, please call us on +44 (0)845 8697504.

I’ve uploaded a special offer, but nothing happens. What do I do?

If you're an advertiser and have uploaded a special offer, we will need to approve it first before we allow it to be shown on our website. This ensures that only the highest quality content is displayed and allows us to verify that no inappropriate content is displayed.

Once we approve it (within 24hrs), you’ll receive an email with further instructions.

Why can’t I view virtual tours on my iPad or iPhone?

Apple decided not to use Adobe Flash on its mobile devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It decided instead to use the new HTML5 technology platform to improve battery life. Here at Let’s Visit, we use Flash to showcase our virtual tours, because it’s the industry’s highest standard at present – but don’t fear: we’re already onto it. We’re currently developing a mobile website that will play our virtual tours in all of their high-definition glory on your mobile device. So watch this space!

Why do the virtual tours look jarred and pixelated?

High-definition virtual tours are just that: high definition. They hold a large amount of data, which ensures that the best-quality images are displayed. Our virtual tours run perfectly on most modern computers – but if you experience any jarring or pixelation that compromises the quality of your viewing experience, it may simply be that your computer’s processor is struggling. Ensure that all other programs are closed to give it a fighting chance.

Why does it take so long to load?

The virtual tours used on our website are optimised for broadband. You may experience long loading times if you’re using dial-up.

Where has my cursor gone?

Sometimes, the cursor can disappear after entering the virtual-tour viewing window. This is related to Flash and is most likely down to your web browser’s Flash plug-in being out of date. Most of the time, you can just drag the cursor to the edge of the screen and it will reappear, but please ensure that your web browser has the latest version of Adobe Flash plug-in installed.

What if I notice incorrect information or errors on your website?

We take great care in ensuring that our information and website pages are all correct and working properly. However, if you do find anything just not right, please let us know … We’re all ears here at Let’s Visit, so don’t be backward in coming forward!

What if I appear in one of Let’s Visit’s virtual tours or photos?

We do our very best to ensure that people are not recognisable if they appear on our virtual tours, unless they have given consent to appear in them. We also blur out number plates and anything else that may impact on people’s privacy. However, if you do think that you appear on any of our virtual tours or photos, and do not wish to be, please contact us by completing the contact form here. We will ensure that you’re removed from view straight away!
