About Shelly's Tea Room

Shelly’s of St Margaret’s Bay is situated in the stunning Bay of St Margaret’s atop the famous White Cliffs. The Bay and beach of St Margaret’s is a 10 minute walk from the tea rooms, taking you down a winding path with some fantastic sea views through the pines.

Also on the beach is the former home of Noel Coward, later bought by author Ian Fleming, of James Bond fame. Local legend would have it that Fleming took the name 007 from the bus that travelled between St Margaret’s and nearby Martin Mill!

Established in 2007 Shelly`s Tea Rooms deliver fantastic service and assure you of a friendly welcome from attentive staff throughout your visit. The food is carefully sourced to ensure the highest of quality and the most generous of portions are given, with the focus on value for money. Opening 7 days a week they serve the full menu right up until closing time, serving such food as oven baked jacket potatoes, freshly baked baguettes, sandwiches and panini’s alongside homemade soup and curry.

No tea shop would be complete without a fine selection of handmade cakes and, most important of all, cream teas. In keeping with tradition, they insist on freshly baked scones, baked on the premises daily each morning and are served with strawberry jam and clotted cream.
