About The Bell Inn

Set in the heart of the beautiful Romney Marsh, this pretty 16th century free house nestles below the imposing tower of St. George’s Church, Ivychurch.

The Bell Inn was built over 450 years ago during the reign of King Henry VIII in 1545, and has "administered ale and bread to the people of the parish" ever since.
Over the centuries, extensions have been added to the original thatched, wood-framed building, and now there is a lounge, saloon and snug.

Outside, the spacious beer garden backs onto St. George’s churchyard and is a delightful place to have your drinks in warmer months. At the front, there is ample parking on both sides and there is also a children's playground opposite.

All of the food is bought locally and prepared freshly on a daily basis and there is a well stocked cellar, with a growing reputation for the real ales served.
