Located in the North Downs at Westenhanger, Folkestone Racecourse is Kent’s only racecourse. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, Folkestone is host to over twenty days of racing a year, both Flat and National Hunt. The Racecourse has a long-established history, with the first spectators stand being constructed in 1896 and the first race run on 13th March 1896.
Compared to other sporting events, the cost of a day at the races is comparatively reasonable. Upon your arrival at Folkestone Racecourse you are presented with a wonderfully picturesque venue, comprising bars and restaurants, and with over three hours of entertainment to look forward to, all for between £10 and £20. All under-18 race goers who are accompanied by an adult are now free of charge at Folkestone. A trip to a premier football match would cost in the region of £40, just to pass through the turnstiles.
Those looking for something different to do, Folkestone Racecourse will be holding a variety of themed days where race goers can enjoy a day out in the fresh air and (hopefully!) a bright sunny day, and for those bringing children bored by the school holidays there will be lots activities and attractions for them to enjoy alongside the racing.
As well as some fantastic racing, the family days come alive with a variety of activities throughout the day, including the chance to meet the pony adopted from Canterbury Horse Rescue, Dandy. He stands at just 32 inches high and is a big hit with the children.
Private Boxes and suites are available from only £70pp and the Lookout Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a three course meal whilst enjoying the racing and is great value for only £55!
Folkestone racecourse has also recently introduced some group discount offers so if you are looking at getting a group of friends together for a day out then theses offers may be perfect for you, to find out more just look online at www.folkestone-racecourse.co.uk
